The Liverpool International Theatre Festival has selected Liverpool artist Peter MacWhirter of Andora Gallery to create the awards for our 2022 event, scheduled for Oct. 13-16 at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool.
Organizers had put out a call for proposals earlier this year to design the 2022 awards, which needed to include the festival’s iconic “mascot”, the Jester Fish.
MacWhirter’s awards will be mixed media, with the Jester Fish design in ceramic on a wooden plaque.
Up to 10 awards will be given out to festival participants from around the world, including a People’s Choice Award.
Theatre troupes from around the world are set to converge on Liverpool in October to present their one-act plays to LITF’s always appreciative audiences.
